Top health and fitness podcasts

Published by HealthFitness on March 25th, 2025

At HealthFitness, we love a good podcast but sometimes struggle to find shows that hit on the issues, topics and challenges we face in our industry every day.

And sure, there’s a lot of podcasts out there—especially in the HR world. But how do you find those that are smart and speak more to what we care about in health, fitness and wellness? So, we set out to develop a list of shows that we listen to on a regular basis.

Here’s six podcasts we’re listening to—and why we think you’d benefit by subscribing and listening to them, too.

1. Shorts with Liz Clark

Why listen? Although it’s a new pod, it’s already becoming one of our team’s favorites. Liz, who’s the president and CEO of the Health & Fitness Association, interviews guests in and around the health and fitness industry. So far, shows hover right around 30 minutes, so it’s an easy listen—and you can subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or YouTube.

2. The Future of Fitness Podcast

Why listen? One of the longest-running shows on our list, entrepreneur, advisor and coach, Eric Malzone, has been podcasting since 2017 with more than 460 episodes. Like the pod title implies, this show is all about the fitness industry—whether that’s the rise of GLP-1 weight-loss medications, the state of personal training, or wellness technology trends.

3. The WorkWell Podcast

Why listen? “This is the best, most realistic and down-to-earth podcast about wellbeing. So happy it’s back!” That review from her Apple Podcast page says it all. Host Jen Fisher is a bestselling author and influential speaker in the corporate wellbeing industry and little-known fact—she’s the first-ever Chief Wellbeing Officer in the professional services industry! On the show, she covers all things wellbeing at work and, as the review above says, it’s back after a short layoff in 2024.

4. NASM Podcast Network

Why listen? The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) is a trusted source in the fitness industry, and their podcast network offers deep dives into a host of fitness-related topics with real-life, certified trainers. Each episode is led by top industry trainers and wellness professionals who share the latest discoveries to help listeners sharpen their fitness knowledge and skills. There are seven shows to choose from in the NASM Podcast Network—including Peak Physique, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and Strong Mind, Strong Body—and all are worth subscribing to.

5. TalentCulture #WorkTrends Podcast

Why listen? While #WorkTrends is definitely more of an HR and workplace-focused podcast, it does occasionally dip into the wellness world. Host Meghan Biro has been podcasting since 2012 and is the tour de force behind the popular TalentCulture website and brand. She’s one of the most plugged in people in the HR world and tackles topics like the ethical role of AI in talent management, the role of culture in hiring and compliance in a remote world.

6. The HealthFitness Podcast

Why listen? We couldn’t create a list and not include our own podcast! In all seriousness, we’re relatively new to the podcast world, but we’re excited to dive into topics like workplace wellbeing and more medically focused topics like weight-loss medications. In future episodes, we’ll be bringing a wide range of guests to the show including industry experts, and some of our own HealthFitness employees, leaders and clients.
