Reach employees in new ways with hybrid fitness memberships
Published by HealthFitness on February 27th, 2023
With 61 percent of employees now preferring a hybrid work schedule, companies offering health and fitness programs exclusively within the walls of their on-site corporate fitness center may not be meeting the needs of all employees. As a result, more companies are implementing significant benefits equity that allows employees access to fitness and wellness programs, whether they work on-site, remote or hybrid.

As a leading fitness solutions provider, HealthFitness is listening to what employees really want when it comes to their fitness and overall health. Today’s employees want to work out where they want, when they want — and it needs to fit their busy schedules. In response, we expect more companies will begin to offer hybrid memberships for their fitness programs.
Through hybrid memberships, employers can reach employees in new ways, allowing them to work out at their gym, at home, or on the road when traveling, all with the convenience of a single membership. A hybrid membership combines access to corporate fitness centers, virtual fitness classes, and collaborations with local yoga, boxing, and Pilates studios. Hybrid memberships combine the best of both worlds and reminds employees that they are joining a program, not just a physical fitness center!
Here’s how a hybrid fitness membership works for hybrid, remote and on-site employees:
Hybrid
Meet Lisa, an accountant who works a hybrid schedule for a technology company, going to the office three days a week and working from home two days a week. Lisa takes advantage of the company’s on-site fitness center and works out with personal trainer during her visits to the office. She even takes fitness classes now and then, which she enjoys because it allows her to work out while she socializes with her coworkers.
On Mondays and Fridays when she works from home, Lisa takes a virtual fitness class through the HealthFitness360® app which is connected to the fitness center. Lisa appreciates the added convenience of live and on-demand classes as well as seeing a familiar face. And some days, she completes her personal training sessions online through video conferencing with the same fitness instructor she works with on-site. On weekends, she frequently attends a yoga class at a local studio with which her employer has a hybrid health program contract. This hybrid program combines an on-site fitness center, a virtual fitness class, and access to classes at various studios. It also allows her to work out whenever and wherever she wants. Remote
Meet Jen, a sales professional who works 100 percent remotely for a leading insurance company. Jen enjoys using HealthFitness360 to participate in live-streamed content led by her HealthFitness professional, including fitness classes, stretch breaks, educational seminars and kid and family options. She also takes on-demand classes including cardio, strength, yoga, progressive workouts, mindfulness, nutrition, mobility and ergonomics.
Through video conferencing, Jen makes real-time connections with her HealthFitness professional—for personal training sessions, coaching and more. Before HealthFitness360, Jen did not have access to the on-site personal training, but now she can participate in all the health and fitness programs. On the weekends, she uses the all-access gym network to reserve and attend a class at her local yoga studio with her friends. Learn more about our remote employee solutions.
On-site
Meet Sam, a manufacturing worker on-site. Sam’s top priority following recent back surgery is maintaining core strength. He has access to a variety of classes through our on-demand library, which he can fit into his schedule before heading to work for his shift. And, after work, he's really starting to notice the advantages of taking an on-demand stretching class. Learn more about our on-site corporate fitness solutions.
