Top ways to help employees stay resolute about health goals
Published by HealthFitness on January 3rd, 2025
When it comes to your employee wellness program, helping employees stay the course is just as important as engaging them in the first place. At HealthFitness, we use a variety of health and fitness programs at our client sites to engage employees all year—including personal and small group training, health coaching, recreational sports, fitness and wellness challenges, group fitness and more!
It starts with your HealthFitness program manager
Your HealthFitness program manager serves as the face of your employee wellness program, bringing your program to life. They will manage the program and HealthFitness team and engage your entire employee population — caring for them as you do. As your partner, they will help you meet your employee wellness goals, while making a positive and lasting impact on your employees.
Here are the top ways we get employees moving and stay dedicated to their health goals.
Personal and small group training
Our certified trainers deliver more than 6,500 sessions nationwide per month, using our proprietary HealthFitness Movement Training System®. Training includes consultation, assessment dedicated support and a personalized plan based on goals.
One of our client’s employees, Jim, enrolled in personal training with a personal trainer to work on his goals of building strength, improving his sleep, and staying active as he ages. “I really appreciate how my trainer makes it easy,” says Jim. “She keeps track of my workouts, my form and always helps me progress by adding in different elements and reps.”
When time is an issue, the trainer has been able to condense Jim’s workouts to 30 minutes, which he appreciates given his hectic schedule. “Getting the same workout done in 30 minutes when I don’t have a full hour helps me stay on track and gives me some flexibility with my schedule, which has been really nice,” says Jim. Fitness and wellness challenges
Help employees focus on health, while fostering a sense of community across on-site, remote and dispersed workers, with fun, interactive challenges that address a wide range of topics and trends. We offer time-bound, trackable activities in a variety of categories including diet, nutrition, physical activity and stress management. Employees will enjoy fun, interactive activities focus on creating and maintaining healthy habits.
One of our client’s employees, Eddie, noticed how the fitness challenges allowed him to connect with coworkers throughout the company. “I’ve made tons of friends at work through the fitness center,” he says. “The amount of networking I was able to do at the fitness center was truly remarkable. It’s amazing how many people you can meet while sharing the goal of creating a healthier lifestyle.” Read Eddie's story.
Group fitness
Connect and motivate employees in shared experiences through group fitness. We offer both core and specialty classes in-person or virtually—and our classes are constantly evolving. One of our client’s employees, Jane, says, “My workout motivation starts in the fitness center. I love my gym friends and the staff.” Caring for the whole person is key to promoting long-term health and wellness and nurturing a health-minded culture.
Health coaching
Help your employees better their health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally, with the support and guidance of a coach. Our coaches go beyond the physical aspects of good health, supporting the whole person, including emotional, financial and social wellbeing to help employees reach their goals. Employees can engage in multiple ways at the same time, including digital, telephonic and on-site. One of our clients' employees, Angela, credits her health coach for changing her life. Read Angela's story.
Recreational sports and activities
Boost employee engagement with a softball or kickball league! Clubs, leagues, aquatics, intramural sports and events, special interest groups, and outdoor adventure recreation provide new ways for your employees to exercise. Your program manager will work to gauge interest, promote and coordinate participation in a variety of activities throughout the year.
Educational meet ups
Help employees clear up all the confusing “noise” surrounding a variety of health topics by providing quick learning opportunities and key takeaways that get straight to the facts. Our health professionals deliver 10-minute learning opportunities on-site or via webinar. You can choose from more than 30 health and wellbeing topics.
