EEOC proposed regulations on employer-sponsored wellness programs
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) recently issued a Proposed Rule detailing how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) applies to employer-provided wellness programs.
The Proposed Rule aims to set parameters for how wellness programs can offer incentives to facilitate participation and still be considered “voluntary,” and therefore, permissible under the ADA. The EEOC expects to issue final rules sometime in 2016.
